Home Sweet Event collection, estate no. 03

Le Hameau de l'Esperelle

Simiane · Colorado Provençal

The estate

Selected by Figaro Magazine among the most beautiful guesthouses in France, this carefully restored 17th-century farmhouse combines the charm of old stone with a warm, intimate atmosphere, set within sixty preserved hectares, not far from the Colorado Provençal. A rare setting to celebrate a wedding or bring your own together.

One of four wedding venues in Provence in the Home Sweet Event collection.

The right estate

Who is Le Hameau de l'Esperelle for?

Le Hameau de l'Esperelle is right for you if you want somewhere secret, intimate and deeply authentic, with that faint "where on earth have you brought us?" effect.

Hidden at the end of a forest track, the Hameau blends wild nature, old stone and the traces of its own history, restored without erasing its soul. Its singularity lies just as much in its many separate spaces, which let every moment of the wedding unfold in a different setting.

The landscaped park

At the heart of 60 preserved hectares, the landscaped park stretches across woods, dry-stone terraces and lavender fields. Far from the bustle, it is a haven of nature offering sweeping views over the Luberon. Like every Home Sweet Event estate, it also has a petanque court, which is where the guests who have never met each other tend to end up in the flat hour after lunch.

The reception space and dance floor

A bright, welcoming reception space, with stone floors and generous volumes, where the wedding party carries on at the heart of the farmhouse. The nearest neighbour is far enough away that the hour the music stops is your decision, not a negotiation.

The pool

Enclosed by the wings of the farmhouse, the central courtyard reveals an intimate pool, lined with stone walls and open to the scent of lavender. A peaceful spot to enjoy the cool of long summer days.

The lavender fields

The estate is dotted with lavender fields, two of which directly surround the property. Blooming runs from June to mid-July and can vary each year.

The inner courtyard

Beneath the golden stone and century-old trees, the central courtyard becomes the perfect setting for an open-air wedding dinner, enhanced after nightfall by festoon lights.

Doing this from a distance

Sixty hectares do not photograph. The silence, the distance to the nearest neighbour and the scale of the woodland at Le Hameau de l'Esperelle are exactly the things a screen cannot convey, which is awkward given that eight of our couples in ten live in another region or another country and will see the estate once, maybe twice, before their wedding day. Organising something this size remotely is a real source of anxiety, not a small one.

We do not answer it by taking the planning over. You will run your wedding your own way, which is why people choose a private estate in the first place. What we give you instead is a toolbox: honest advice about what this place makes easy and what it makes complicated, a single contact from your first message to the farewell brunch, and an ecosystem of suppliers who have already worked here and know how far the kitchen is from the courtyard. They sign up to a charter of ethics, fairness, honesty and reliability, and to nothing else, since we take no commission from any of them.

Two practices do the reassuring. The first is the Wedding Shop Days: once a year we open one of the estates for two to four days with around forty suppliers from the ecosystem, free for our couples, no entry fee and nothing to sign. You taste the food, hear the musicians and watch the light fall at the hour it will fall on your own day, and one weekend of it replaces half a dozen trips south. The second comes afterwards: every couple fills in a satisfaction questionnaire, and those answers decide who stays on the list.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is the venue exclusively private for our event?

Yes. Le Hameau de l'Esperelle is reserved for you in its entirety, for two to five days: no other group is hosted on the property.

How soon do we hear back after our request?

You receive our brochure within 5 minutes of sending the form, then we call you to talk through your project. One single contact follows you from the first message to the last day of your event.

Do you work with imposed suppliers?

Only for caterers (you choose from our list of around ten partner caterers and private chefs). For every other supplier, no imposed list. We recommend an ecosystem of professionals committed to a charter of ethics, fairness, honesty and reliability, and take no commission: you pay them directly, at their own rates. A moral commitment is all we ask in return, and the satisfaction questionnaire our couples fill in after each event is what decides who stays on the list.

Is there a private pool on site?

Yes, an intimate pool, lined with stone walls and open to the scent of the lavender fields, at the heart of the central courtyard, with garden lounges, sun loungers and parasols.

What happens if it rains or the weather turns?

A marquee tent, to be set up in case of rain, is included in your rental.

Can we plan a wedding here without living in France?

Eight of our couples in ten do, from another region or more often another country, so this is the situation we are set up for. You keep one contact from your first message to the farewell brunch, the suppliers we suggest have already worked on the estate and know its distances, and none of them pays us anything, so our advice carries no hidden interest. Most couples come once before booking and once nearer the date, and the Wedding Shop Days replace the rest of the meetings.

What are the Wedding Shop Days?

Once a year we open one of the estates for two to four days and invite around forty suppliers from the ecosystem: caterers, photographers, florists, musicians, decorators. It is a party, not a trade fair. Our couples come free of charge, with no entry fee and nothing to sign on site. You taste what the caterer would actually serve, hear the musicians and watch the light fall at the hour it will fall on your own day. Every couple who has booked is invited to the next edition, with the dates passed on as soon as they are fixed.

When are the lavender fields in bloom?

From June to mid-July, though the timing can vary each year. Two lavender fields directly surround the property.
